Past Events October 21 12- 3 PM CDT

Roughly a dozen folks flying made for a friendly group for the October session.

There was lots of good air in the Sparta Dome. Sunny weather outside was good for 3 minute flights near the roof for Joe B.’s Science Olympiad plane built to 2015 Rules ( 8 g minimum weight, 2 g maximum rubber, 240 mm maximum Prop diam.). Drift was fairly strong to the Southeast, but there was no contact with the wall.

Double Whammy in SpartaDome

There was more than enough room in the Dome for Joe B.’s Double Whammy ( built from the Markos design for the Cash Bash contest at Racine’s Memorial Hall). The flat plate wing, 0.080″ rubber motor, and 6 inch North Pacific prop were good for 60 second flights that didn’t quite take advantage of the Dome’s height. Switching to 0.094″ rubber would improve the climb.
