2023 Bong Eagles Old Timer Meet Pictures

The Old Timer Meet was held on July 8 at Wind Lake Turf Farm. Despite rain before 10 AM, the field dried off quickly and weather was fine after 11 AM.

Old Time Cabin Contenders

Old Time Stick Models

Jack T. and Mike T. brought Stick models with enclosed motors. Jack T’s qualified as an Old Timer. He lost it to a Monster thermal which took it off the field. Hung rules!

FAC Embryo Contenders

Jeff A. flew first with his Klingon Starship pusher Embryo Class Plane

Joe B. flew an Anna Jr. Embryo built from a BMJR Kit. It is fitted with a 7-inch Peck prop and 4 strands of 3/32 inch rubber to make it climb.

FAC Rubber Scale

Two Flyers brought planes that would qualify for FAC Rubber Scale

Jack T.’s Grumman Wildcat in British Martlet colors was beautifully detailed.

Delta Dart Launch

Like most Bong Eagles Meets, flyers were encouraged to bring a Delta Dart and to participate in a Mass Launch. At this meet, Jeff A. and Joe B. flew theirs.

Jeff A’s Simple Models

Jeff A flew a Thermal Dart and a simple Stick model. both of which were suited to the wide open spaces at Wind Lake Turf Farms. They would make good beginner models for anyone interested in bubber band powered free flight planes.
