Bong Eagles held their AMA Free Flight Contest on Aug. 8 at the Jasperson Turf Farm near Wind Lake, WI. Weather was sunny, near cloudless, but a bit windy. The turf in the launch area was very fine. Mike K. and Joe B. brought planes to fly. Mike had a good flight with his Mulvihill contender. It landed quite a ways West of the launch area, on the other side of a strip of soybeans. He also had good flights with his P-30. Joe B. brought a 3-Nite P-30 he built from a Volare short kit, but motor breakage prevented an official flight. He also brought two Embryo Class ( 50 sq. in. wing) FAC planes, a Bad Axe and a Zephyr, but couldn’t get them to climb out of the turbulence near the ground caused by the wind. Jeff A. and Jim G. came to observe, and there were 2 other spectators.
