An Indoor Free Flight meet sponsored by the Bong Eagles will be held at the EAA Museum in Oshkosh Wi on February 6-8, 2026. The organizer, H. G. Here’s the flyer for FlightFest 2026. You’ll see a change regarding the contact for EAA lodge reservations. Please contact them for availability and pricing. Please fill out the registration form and get it back to me as soon as possible. Just fill it out, add your name to the filename, and send it back.  

As I mentioned in my previous e-mail, we’re open to a second, heavier category for the One-Design MIshMash. I’ve attached a photo of the two I’ve built. One is built to the plan dimensions and covered in Ultrafilm and came in just under 3 grams, so it will need a bit of ballast, the other is built a bit with nothing smaller than 1/32 sheet balsa and is covered in Easybuilt white tissue. It weighs 5 grams.

Limited flight testing shows it does not need any side thrust to get it to turn to the right, it is happy to go that way with the prop built per the plan, rotating counter-clockwise as viewed from the rear. Don’t get too hung up about the exact size of the pint glass on which to form your prop; anything close is fine.

If you can’t make it for this year’s event, please let me know. It helps me as I plan for the tables and space in the Eagle Hangar.
