Summary by Jeff A.
The fun fly scheduled for Saturday 9-14-15 was moved to Sunday due to predicted slightly lower wind velocities. The weather turned out to be beautiful on Sunday with Sunny skies, warm temperatures in the low 80’s, and wind out of the South to South-East 4 to 7 mph. Steve Pollina had just finished his Sparky and started putting in some initial test flights, which all flew well. Steve improved the flight path by incrementally adding some right thrust to make the model turn better under power. Steve is a master builder with his new Sparky beautifully detailed with outline colors, custom-made decals, vacuum-formed spinner, electronic DT, and GPS locator. Mike Kirda continued trimming his Becker oldtimer stick model and had some outstanding flights of around 400 ft. altitude per his GPS altimeter readings. This model is also equipped with RDT allowing Mike to overfly trees and hazards before tripping the DT in a safe landing zone. Jim continued to work on trimming one of his many P30 models. Jeff attended to take photos and trim his Super Delta Dart which doesn’t fly too far as he is still recovering from rotator cuff surgery.
